UHM Pre-Health/Pre-Law Advising Center (PAC)
PAC is a walk-in resource center for everyone who is interested in health or law careers, even if you are not enrolled at UHM! They provide comprehensive advising for those interested in medicine (including allopathic, chiropractic, naturopathic, osteopathic and podiatric medicine), dentistry, optometry, pharmacy, law and much more. The PAC peer advisors are trained to guide you in developing a personal academic plan that includes choosing a major, taking prerequisite courses, preparing for and taking entrance exams, engaging in volunteering, shadowing and research opportunities and staying on top of the application timeline. For students who are undecided, come in to PAC and explore health and law careers. Get started on the right track towards entering into your professional school!

UHM Pre-Medical Association (PMA)
PMA is the largest pre-health organization at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. PMA strives to provide students with a holistic perspective of the field of healthcare, help members to develop academically and professionally through service and leadership opportunities and foster collegiality among peers with similar goals and interests. PMA is the sister organization of MSMP.

UHM Biology Club
The Biology Club is an organization for students who share an interest in the biological sciences. In the past, club events included shark cage encounters, camping and hiking. It is open to students from diverse backgrounds (not just biology majors). The Biology Club is a GREAT way to get to know the island of Hawaii, meet new people, make important connections with faculty and staff and get involved in the community.

UHM Honors Student Organization
The Honors Student Organization (HSO) is completely student-run organization and serve as a liason between students and the staff of the Honors Program. All students enrolled in the UHM Honors Program are automatically members of the HSO, but we highly encourage individuals to take an active role in our activities, some of which may fulfill the engagement opportunity requirement of the Honors Program curriculum.

The UH Health Services Advisory Council
The mission of SHAC is to provide students a voice in the planning and decision making of their university’s health care services. THE FOLLOWING ARE MAJOR INITIATIVES ADDRESSED BY SHAC: 1) Advisory—To provide input and advice on issues of student health, including review of health policies, identification of services needed, and evaluation of such services. 2) Advocacy—To serve as a advocacy body for health policy and administrative issues on student health insurance and health fees, health-related academic courses, and general health and wellness throughout the University community. 3) Educational—Assist with the planning and implementation of outreach health activities and health education programs, such as peer education and health fairs. UHM Health Occupations Students of America
HOSA is a national organization with an active chapter at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Members sign up to engage in friendly competition in various health related events, such as health education, nutrition, medical reading, and much, much more! Members may even advance to nationals and participate in the HOSA National Leadership Conference in the mainland. Additionally, the UH Manoa chapter strives to provide its members with as many health education and volunteer opportunities as possible. They want to motivate and encourage members to continue developing both their knowledge and technical skills and gain success in their future career endeavors.

Psi Chi, UH Mānoa Chapter is the only chaptered, internationally recognized honor society within the Department of Psychology at The University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. Psi Chi is amember of the Association of College Honor Societies, as well as an affiliate of the American Psychological Association and the Association for Psychological Science.

UHM Student Activity Program and Fee Board (SAPFB)
SAPFB plays a significant role on campus. As one of six UHM Chartered Student Organizations, the SAPFB is the officially delegated authority that makes recommendations to the Vice Chancellor for Students every semester regarding the allocation and use of the student activity and program fee paid as part of the tuition paid by each student every semester ($11 in the Fall and Spring and $5 during summer sessions).

It is based on the philosophy that “leadership is action, not position” (quote by Donald H. McGannon). In addition, they believe that leadership occurs in all aspects of one’s life and everyone has ample opportunity to enhance their skills. Their goal is to provide training and resources for students to develop who they are both personally and professionally. Club Mission: “Our goal is to provide opportunities for undergraduates at UH Hilo to become well rounded applicants to medical school. We want them to be informed so that their application is seen as viable during their cycle. 27% did not passed the academic screen for medical school in Hawaii County, meaning their application never made it to committee. We would like to change that.”

UHMC Pre-Professional Health Club (PPHC)
Organization Description: PPHC strives to provide opportunities in volunteering, research, and mentorship to the students of UH Maui. Founded in 2013 by Jed Doronio, the organization is still growing and looking for new members and leaders. Students interested in pursuing careers in healthcare are encouraged to join Maui’s first-ever pre-health organization.
